In 2003 she took a leave from writing her nationally syndicated political opinion columns in order to write her book Self-Made Man, the story of a woman living, working and dating in drag as a man.

While syndicated, Vincent was a weekly columnist for the Los Angeles Times op-ed page and wrote a quarterly politics and culture column for the national gay and lesbian newsmagazine The Advocate. She wrote book reviews and critical essays several times a year for The Baltimore Sun, and was a Senior Fellow at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, a think tank set up after September 11th to study terrorism.

Ms. Vincent wrote the "Higher Ed" column for The Village Voice from 1999-2001, and wrote a biweekly column for Salon.com in 2001.

Her essays, columns and reviews have also appeared in The New Republic, The New York Times, The New York Post, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, The Baltimore Sun, and many more regional newspapers around the country including The Houston Chronicle, Newsday, The Albany Times-Union, The San Jose Mercury-News, The New Orleans Times-Picayune, and The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Ms. Vincent has guest hosted the "Brian Lehrer Show" on NPR's New York affiliate station WNYC. She has been a guest on numerous television and radio talk shows, including "Politically Incorrect", "The O'Reilly Factor", "Hannity and Colmes", "Rivera Live", "Rush Limbaugh", "Greenfield at Large" and "The Brian Lehrer Show".

She was profiled in the Media section of The New York Times (August 6, 2001).
She holds a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Williams College. She resides in New York City.
